THE BOWL
OF PERFECT LIGHT
(This story comes
from Tales From the Night Rainbow, a wonderful book by
Pali Jae Lee and Koko Willis. It is a story from the Island
of Moloka'i told by Koko's "big grandma" Kaili'ohe. Kaili'ohe
was the granddaughter of Kai-akea, and the one chosen to learn the
genealogy and historical chants of the family. She was born
in 1816 during the reign of King Kamehameha I. She lived through
much change in the Hawaiian Islands, including seeing Hawaii become
a territory of the United States. Thank you, mahalo, to Kaili'ohe,
Pali and Koko for sharing this story and its wisdom.)
"Each child born has at birth, a Bowl
of perfect Light. If he tends his Light, it will grow in strength
and he can do all things--swim with the shark, fly with the birds,
know and understand all things. If, however, he becomes envious
or jealous he drops a stone into his Bowl of Light and some of the
Light goes out. Light and the stone cannot hold the same space.
If he continues to put stones in the Bowl of Light, the Light will
go out and he will become a stone. A stone does not grow,
nor does it move. If at any time he tires of being a stone,
all he needs to do is turn the bowl upside down and the stones will
fall away and the Light will grow once more."
A Story of
Piscataway Conoy History
by Robert "Lone Bear" Walls
Foreward:
He, who has the pen, writes the history. The written word
has been used to subjugate the Native American cultures since the
days of European colonists. The result of this literal warfare
was devastating. Innumerable people lost their lives because
of disease and outright violence inflicted upon indigenous peoples
by the "settlers" of the "New World." The fledgling United
States also took part in the eradication of native cultures; state-sponsored
genocide killed millions while ignored treaties and misleading,
historically false frontier stories influenced most Americans.
As these myriad peoples died, their culture died with them.
It is impossible
to imagine the diversity these cultures could have represented.
The only chance left for the few remaining native cultures to be
remembered is to codify their myths, rites, dances and oral histories
into the written word. It is time to use the word instead
of being abused by it; the lifeblood of this story flows in that
vein of empowerment. What follows here is a story of my people,
the Piscataway Conoy Indians of Maryland. This is a new history,
a written history from the waning echoes of my people.
Hear
me, Piscataway Conoy people; my people, for I am one of you.
I will speak from the heart and tell you stories from long ago.
The Great Spirit
created our Mother Earth. Then he brought many peoples to
be stewards of the Earth Mother who nurtures us all. Our story
begins with the Leni Lenape which was later called the Delaware
by the Europeans. Our ancestors decided to break away from
the Leni Lanape; and so it was. We became known as the Piscataway
when our people traveled south to a land where the waters join,
which is the Piscataway that literally means "Joining of the Waters."
We were called "Conoy" meaning "Whirling Waters" by the Iroquois/Six
Nations as we were a people without a home.
The land was
fertile near the Potomac and Patuxent Rivers and there was much
game to hunt, the fishing was good, and the forests were plentiful.
The forests provided the materials to build our long houses and
furnished the large timbers to create a wooden barrier or stockade
around our village to protect us from hostile native tribes.
We planted crops such as corn, beans, and squash; gathered nuts
and berries; hunted bear, deer, beaver, and wild turkey and other
fowls for food, clothing, shelter, cooking and sewing utensils;
fished out of the many rivers, searched for clams, crabs, mussels,
oysters, and other shellfish. We became wise in the ways of preserving
and storing foodstuffs for our survival during the winter months,
siege, and other stressful times.
Our people were
blessed. Mother Earth provided all of our basic needs; we
lived a simple and uncomplicated life. Our numbers increased
to some 48 villages under the Piscataway Conoy Confederacy.
Our simple, conservative lifestyle was reflected in our everyday
lives. There were very few adornments on our clothing, and
our pottery and pipes were plain in comparison with other east coast
tribal peoples.
We had a familial
hierarchy much like the monarchies of Europe and our "Emperor" held
the title of "Tayac" and governed over the 48 villages, which later
became known as the Pistacaway Conoy Confederacy. Each village
had a small political unit; this unit included a "Werowance" (chief)
and his "Cockarouses" or counselors. It was the responsibility
of the Werowance to govern the village and see that tribute was
made to the Tayac. The Tayac lived in the village of Moyanoe,
which was later moved and called Piscataway.
Long before
the English colonists, in the 1500s, Spanish ships sailed up the
Potomac River and disembarked near the Piscataway Conoy village.
Spain established several forts in the area along the Potomac River
and other tributary shorelines in the area now known as Washington,
D.C. The Spanish lived among the Piscataway Conoy. During
this time, the Spanish soldiers decided to take some of our people
to Spain but records only show one young Piscataway boy, re-named
Louis by his Spanish host, was taken back to Spain.
The Spanish
hosts carrying our people traveled with them down the Potomac River,
along the Atlantic coast to Florida, to Mexico City and then to
Spain. Louis learned the ways of the Spanish and was educated
in their schools. After gaining the trust of the Spanish,
he earned a position of authority in the Spanish government.
He governed over Spanish territory in the region of the Piscataway
Conoy. Louis, while appearing to rule harshly, secretly met
with tribal officials to plan the removal of the Spanish from the
lands of the Piscataway Conoy. One thing the Spanish never
learned about our tribe was our ancestors' expertise with poison.
One evening, during a Spanish celebration, Louis' plan came
to a deadly fruition. All the Spanish were dead by morning.
It would be almost a hundred years before the John Smith's expedition
to the New World would land on the shores of our people.
In 1634, Lord
Leonard Calvert and Father Andrew White sailed the two ships, the
Arc and the Dove, from Virginia up the Potomac
to establish the first settlement in what would become Maryland.
Their arrival was foretold in a dream. Wannas, the current
Tayac, had seen two white men dressed in black on the shore.
Wannas prepared a great show of force. Piscataway Conoy warriors
set many fires along the shores of the Potomac to greet the interlopers.
When Calvert and his entourage arrived, they were met with a tense
hospitality. Calvert intended to ask permission to begin a
settlement among the Piscataway Conoy. It is said Wannas mulled
over the proposal and then told Calvert that he would not ask him
to leave nor would he ask him to stay. Wannas insisted that
Calvert use his own discretion. In the face of such an organized
and imposing congregation, Calvert thought it prudent to start his
village away from our people. He traveled south and established
St. Mary's as the first permanent English settlement in the Maryland
colony.
However, ridding
the area of Europeans did not ensure domestic tranquility.
Less than two years after Calvert left, Wannas was killed, most
likely poisoned, by his brother Kittamaquund in a struggle for control
over the tribe. This coup marked a tragic turning point.
Kittamaquund became ill and all the tribe's medicine men were summoned
to heal him, but to no avail. Word spread that Father White
was in the region. He was called by Kittamaquund and came
to try his medicine. Father White, who had rudimentary medical
training and the practice of blood letting, was able to heal the
Tayac. Kittamaquund was imminently grateful. He pledged
his loyalty to Father White's magic and officially converted the
tribe to Catholicism. Polygamy, which had been practiced among
our tribe, was shunned for Christian monogamy. Father White
lived among the tribe and was even given one of Kittamaquund's former
wives to care for his needs. Many of our people were renamed
during their baptism and soon the decay of our culture had begun.
Having warmed
to Father White, Calvert was soon welcomed by Kittamaquund.
Clavert offered Kittamaquund a Tudor-style English house, a suit
of clothes and a pair of black leather shoes with silver buckles,
and to care for and school in the English ways his youngest daughter,
Mary. Mary was the daughter of his third wife, who he had
to give up because of his new religion. They built alliances
and soon it was declared by Kittamaquund that the governor of Maryland
would name the next Tayac. Kittamaquund died in 1641, which
set off a powder keg of internal political strife. The Maryland
governor appointed Kittamaquund's daughter as Tayac because he did
not have any sons. This did not mesh well with the tribe's
traditions and many Piscataway Conoy refused to acknowledge her
authority. They established their own group by recognizing
a cousin of Wannas who lived among the Nanticoke people as their
rightful leader.
The floodgates
were now open and colonists arrived in great numbers. Most
of the tribe retreated to hunting grounds in Virginia to escape
the rush of the settlers; others to Maryland's mountainous region
and Maryland's southern swamps. The absence of the Piscataway
Conoy enabled the Six Nations to mount offensive military campaigns
against the English. The Marylanders entreated our people
to return and offer protection from the other tribes. Sensing
sincerity and an opportunity to reclaim tribal territory, our ancestors
agreed to aid the colonists. The Six Nations were turned away
by our warriors and for a while relations between the tribe and
colonists were equitable. One important result of assisting
the colonists was the tribe now had access to rifles and other military
hardware.
This amicable
relationship quickly soured. A provision in all English treaties
dealing with our people and other eastern shore tribes dating from
1666 to 1742 explicitly detailed how the colonists regarded native
peoples. Since the colonists could not distinguish one Indian
from another, it was declared all Indians, upon coming within 300
feet of a colonist cleared land , would have to announce his presence,
lay down any weapons and then wait for the colonist to give permission
to move. Other insidious legal documents stated that once
an Indian left English-designated living areas they were no longer
Indian and any other claim for the land was invalid. These
laws gave colonists authority to displace many tribes; especially
since there was no official recognition of most tribes or their
populations. In fact, in Virginia and Maryland, according
to census rules, no native births, deaths or marriages were recorded.
Because laws were passed for such records to be kept for all except
for Indians, with such legal manipulation most tribes simply disappeared
from Maryland public records.
Our people found
these conditions intolerable and abandoned the Marylanders.
Sometime around the 1690s our people joined the Iroquois Confederacy.
It is a little known fact our people became the Seventh Nation under
the Confederacy.
A delegation
of diplomats from the Confederacy, which included Piscataway Conoy
members, met with colonists in Lancaster, Pennsylvania to discuss
incursions into the Maryland/Virginia western area. Benjamin
Franklin was present and documented the meetings. They also
wished to speak to representatives from Virginia and Maryland, who
were fighting amongst themselves over the disputed land, about claims
on the land formerly held by the Piscataway Conoy. The English
wanted the Confederacy's military might to dissuade the French from
using force to obtain a foothold in the New World.
Regardless of
the fact the English colonists desperately needed the protection
of the Confederacy, Maryland's representatives declared that the
King of England and his subjects had been on the land for 100
years and had always owned the land and that the tribe had no claim
whatsoever. This absurd statement was met incredulously by
Canassatego, leader of the Confederacy's delegation. The next
day Canassatego spoke to the assembled diplomats. He acknowledged
a hundred years was a long time, but asked "what is one hundred
years in comparison to the thousands of years before their hundred
years in length of time since our claim began?"
Despite being
used as a model for the American republic, the Iroquois Confederacy,
along with many other tribes, faced despicable hardship and escalating
hositility in the colonies and later at the bloodied hands of the
United States. Native tribes were disregarded by official
government documents and ceased to exist. Maryland, because
of its surrepititious census policies, was able to ignore all tribes
in that region. In fact, if not for the close tribal
ties to the Catholic Church, which signaled the beginning of the end,
hardly any records of the Piscataway Conoy people, our people, would
exist. Now, even the Church refuses to open more extensive
records to research and some records, which have been thought to
exist, have simply disappeared.
The written
word, effectively and maliciously employed by Europeans and the
U.S., eradicted most traces of the many tribes who once lived throughout
America. But there are voices from the past, there are enough
scant documents, there is the desire to correct misconceptions and
seek the truth, and there is hope one day our great people, and
all native tribes, will gain the recognition and honor we rightly
deserve.
Epilogue:
Listen to the spirits of all the nations. Let these words
begin the long journey to reclaim our history from the bloodied
hands of those who killed and oppressed our peoples as well
as all tribes. The future of our children is rooted in
our past, andit is our duty to tell our story and ensure our heritage
is not lost. Study your history to ensure our culutre does
not perish. Our identity was sullied by the words of the European
settlers; we trusted them and helped them. In return we were
subject to unparalleled persecution. it is time to stand together,
my brothers and sisters, and proclaim our heritage to the world.
Let
our blood run more!
Let
not our sweat pour from our skin for no good reason.
There
is no difference between our blood and our sweat,
for
they run like water into the earth.
My
Mother Earth and Grandfather Sky, from whence we came,
look
upon us with great respect.
They see the
grandeur of life that flows through our veins.
Hold onto me
in your heart, Grandmother,
for I am ashamed
of not standing up for you in this life that I have with you.
Don't let the
blood of sweat that lies in your heart to be wasted.
Allow the scent
of the Old Ones to take hold,
to show how
we should live by the old ways.
Let respect
flow with the ways of this world.
Our ancestors
never gave up their ways, why should we not do otherwise?
My heart is
ripped open to allow the blood of our people to be heard.
In this blood
are the voices of our people that can be heard.
Are you listening?
I am!
(Editor's Note: All First Nations people have been adversely affected
by Western cultures, including the natives of Hawaii.. Before
the arrival of the white European in the middle of the 19th century,
there were 400,000 native Hawaiians. Today approximately 12,000
people of pure Hawaiian ancestry remain.)
by Rev.
James Venable Alexander
First and foremost you might be asking yourself what is HUNA? HUNA
is that form of magic practiced by the ancient Hawaiians. It is
a term which is used today to describe those practices which were
common in their lifestyles in ancient times, as well as today.
The word HUNA itself is used on the mainland and has been made
popular by Max Freedom Long's books and others who have followed
his work. It comes from the root word of KaHUNA. Native Hawaiians
have no such word for their beliefs or lifestyle. Regardless of
the terms, today as in so many other things, publicity makes something
known and once it becomes known in a bigger picture, as that term,
well that is that. However, that does not mean that what is being
taught is less worthy or different. The Hawaiians incorporated
in their lifestyle living in "pono" or rightness, harmony,
and spiritual oneness. Ancient Hawaiians knew that all things
were connected and saw no need to separate them. Everything is
a condition of spirit and that is what HUNA is all about.
Lokahi: Is oneness with one's self, with others, with Spirit,
with everything. This was the Hawaiian ancestors' main objective
in how to live.
The principles of HUNA are based in the concept that the human
psyche is composed of three parts or selves and the communication
between them. It should be understood that you communicate with
your three selves all the time. This is not new but like many
things we do, we find that we can do them better if we learn more
worthy methods of doing them. It is like going water or cross-country
skiing or doing any serious exercise when you are not in your
best physical condition. The next day many of you wake up finding
that your body was communicating with you in that very special
way which comes from the over exertion of muscles that have not
been used in a while. In fact, you may find that you have muscles
that you really did not know existed and they were communicating
their dislike of your abuse of them. Learning HUNA is a method
of learning to use your regular muscles and those hereto undiscovered
muscles better, more frequently and in harmony.
The three selves are the conscious mind (Uhane), which represents
logic and the here and now; the subconscious mind (Unihipili),
which represents emotions, memory or the past, the creator of
life force or Mana, and is childlike and has poor logic; the Higher
Self mind (Aumakua), which is our parental spirit, the masterful
part of our soul, the creator of our futures, and the one out
of whose mouth God or Akua speaks. Which translates into the Higher
Self has access to all information from an all-knowing source.
Associated with these three selves are three levels of energy:
Level 1 (Mana); Level 2 (Mana-Mana); and, Level 3 (Mana-Loa).
It is this communication between the three selves and the transference
of Mana or energy along with your prayer request that makes the
magic happen.
For those who may be reading this article that are Dowsers, the
primary difference between HUNA and dowsing is the quality of
the relationship between the three selves and what those of us
who practice know to be a more worthy path of communication and
modality of living in harmony with all things. HUNA as a religion
deals with both the mechanical side of the relationship between
the three selves, as well as the spiritual harmony, and combines
them into the actual work of living. It is not based on faith
but rather real communication. The test of that communication
is the product produced and the life lived.
The secret to making the magic happen is getting your request
to your Higher Self. All the prayers in the world may be prayed
but unless your Basic Self sends the request to your Higher Self
with energy, then you might as well be wasting your time. It does
not matter how devoted you are, how long or loud you pray, nor
how in need you are or how good, etc...If you do not get your
request to your Higher Self with energy or Mana then you will
not have a chance of it being considered.
Learning HUNA is about learning how to communicate with your Higher
Self through your Basic Self on a more direct basis. It is about
learning how to establish a better and more direct relationship
with your Basic Self and therefore learning to help take charge
of your future.
Along with learning this internal communication comes a mechanical
side of also learning how to remove the internal obstacles within
your psyche which limit your abilities to communicate with your
Higher Self.
In the modern practice of HUNA you are taught like the dowsers
to use a communication tool, a pendulum and dowsing rods. However,
the pendulum is the tool of choice here.
By way of explanation I am going to share a technique I used to
change my circumstances and correct a problem, which is one that
I am sure all of us can appreciate.
MONEY!
Or
the lack of it, I should say.
Prior to me accepting the call of the Priesthood, I was self-employed
and, like everybody in business, I had good days and bad days.
I found that while I was doing everything I was supposed to do,
I still fell short of my financial goals. It was as if no matter
what I did or said, I could not get over this hump. One of the
first things HUNA teaches you is that you are absolutely responsible
for everything that happens to you in your life. Now, that sometimes
is a hard pill to swallow.
It, at the very minimum, is a true wake-up call when things are
not going the way you think they should be. Especially after you
have done all that you think you are supposed to be doing.
Listen up! When you are doing all that you know to do and you
still are NOT getting the results that you logically should be,
then there is a problem. I have been quoted as saying, "If
you don't like where you are in your life, then I suggest you
get in touch with that part of yourself that got you there and
change it! Welcome to HUNA!"
BASIC
QUESTIONS
I got my pendulum out and started the questioning. I speak to
my Basic Self (Unihipili) out loud. I do this so that I can separate
me from it and have the best input or stimuli. Here are some questions
that I asked myself:
Q: Are you the Basic Self born to me in this lifetime? A: Yes.
Q: Do we have any eating companions, entities, extra Basic Selves
or spirits?
A.
No.
Q: Do we have any companions, entities, extra Basic Selves or
spirits attached to us? A: No. (I now know that I do not have
interference from outside.)
Q: Basic Self, are you sending Mana and thought-forms to the High
Self (Aumakua) saying that we are not supposed to be financially
successful? A: No.
Q: Basic Self, are you sending Mana and thought-forms to the High
Self saying that we are not to reach our financial goals? A: Yes.
Q: Did I tell you to do this? A: Yes.
Q: Did you hear this from some other source in our life? A: Yes.
Q: Have we worked on this problem before? A: No.
Q: Have we worked on prosperity issues before? A: Yes.
Q: Can you tell me how long we have had this information working
in us?
A:
Yes.
(I believe that this is just another part of something that I
have been working on all my life. I don't believe that I have
directly hit on this particular issue. I do believe that I have
previously stripped away other mental behavior, future-limiting
beliefs [thought-forms]. Apparently I missed this group.)
Q: Have we had this since before the age of 15? A: Yes.
(I now know that this has been with me for a while. Looking back
it makes sense. I think sometimes we treat symptoms and not the
problems. I have been whittling away at this for a while.)
Q: Do you believe that we should be prosperous and wealthy? A:
Yes.
Now here is something worth remembering. Your Basic Self will
do exactly what it thinks you want it to do. That means my Basic
Self believes that we should be prosperous and wealthy and at
the very same time sends the other thought-forms that say we are
not to achieve our financial goals. The end result is that whichever
one gets the most amount of attention wins or a little of both.
In my case I was doing better than before, but I still seemed
to fall short of my goals.

HUNA
PRAYER ACTION
(Part
II)
by
Rev. James Venable Alexander
(Note: Part I of this article is now located in the Library Archives)
BELIEFS
Now here is something worth remembering. Your Basic Self will
do exactly what it thinks you want it to do. That means my Basic
Self believes that we should be prosperous and wealthy and at
the very same time sends the other thought-forms that say we are
not to achieve our financial goals. The end result is that whichever
one gets the most attention wins or we get a little of both. In
my case I was doing better than before, but I still seemed to
fall short of my goals.
Q:
At this time can you go to the High Self?
A:
Yes.
Q:
Go to the High Self and ask if not reaching our financial goals
are for our highest good.
A:
NO.
Q:
Ask the High Self if it will help us to remove and replace this
programming.
A:
Yes.
Q:
Basic Self, do you want to change this programming?
A:
Yes.
DESIRE
TO CHANGE
It should be noted that I asked Basic Self if it wanted to change
the program. If the answer had been no, that would have been the
next thing to work on. It is a waste of time and energy to try
to change things if you do not have the cooperation of your Basic
Self.
When you know you have a problem, you must first accept it. That
means Conscious (Uhane) and Basic Self must be together, each
in their appropriate roles, working hand in hand harmoniously.
HOW MUCH MANA?
I have learned to ask how much energy or mana it will take to
complete the reprogramming. I compute this in deep breathing time
combined with prayer.
Q:
How long will it take to store up the necessary mana to heal this
problem?
(It should be noted that I have already worked out with my Basic
Self how to do this. I ask questions in a stepping order like:
Is this going to take more than an hour? Is this going to take
more than an hour and a half? And so on and so forth.
A:
About two and a half hours.
I set a time up in the evening so I could do the deep breathing
and gather mana and pray uninterrupted.
For the rest of the day I went about my normal activities. I use
HUNA in my everyday life. I had the opportunity to use my pendulum
while working. During this communication I seized the moment to
interject an affirmation or prayer, while I had good communication
with myself on another matter.
"High
Self, please assist me in helping me help myself help me, tonight
and any time in the future. Thank you, High Self and Basic Self
for helping me now."
You see, not all is black and white, set in stone, on how to practice
HUNA. Anytime you are in harmony and you know that you are flowing
"Seize the moment!" Say a prayer while the door is open
to enhance a future communication, increase energy, work on that
shared complex. Don't waste the opportunity.
I can't tell you how long it took me to recognize and then utilize
those opportunities. One of the names given for seizing harmonious
moments is "Gentle Wishing." I know this sounds strange,
but think about it. How many times have you been playing a sport
or listening to music that moved your soul? When you feel one
with yourself: "Seize the moment!" Give yourself that
positive suggestion; say that standard prayer that you should
have been taught to write for yourself. You will be absolutely
shocked at how fast you get results.
REPETITION
In the beginning I used to carry 3"x5" cards with my
prayers written on them so I could say them exactly the same each
time. Now, I carry them recorded on cassette tape in my Walkman
and on 3"x5" cards. I even have a reduced version in
my wallet. I update regularly, so I can "Seize the moment!"
Remember you are responsible for everything in your life. Your
Life! Take possession of it and your programming of it.
We've all seen these people who seem to be trying to get on with
their own agenda of self-improvement, living and experiencing
life to its fullest on their terms. I suspect that at one time
or another we all have been irritated with these people who are
too positive or too healthy, too something etc...But you know
what? They have goals! They are for the most part happy and they
all care what happens to life around them. They all seem to be
very respectful of people and nature. Best of all, these same
people change the world by doing and practicing what most people
only talk about. In short, by example! So, "Seize the Moment!"
Take control now through HUNA techniques.
THE
RIGHT TIME
The appointed time arrived for mana charging and prayers. I got
my pendulum out and confirmed with my Basic Self that now is the
time and it was ready to begin.
Q:
Is this the right time? Are you ready to begin?
A:
Yes.
I began to visualize the energy coming into me through my breath
and flowing to Basic Self. I visualize the energy being stored
up. Now, that all sounds easy, doesn't it? Not true. I am doing
deep breathing to the point of almost hyperventilating. Listen
up, you must maintain control of your Conscious mind and be in
communication with your Basic Self and continue to focus on the
task at hand.
DEEP
BREATHING
When I say deep breathing, I mean D E E P breathing, starting
with lower diaphragm, filling up the lungs with air to upper thoracic,
full lung, yoga-style breath of fire-breathing! Your stomach and
chest should look like the tide coming in. You start inhaling
low; your belly sticks out, and then as you inhale more, your
solar plexus bulges out. Next, your upper chest begins to rise
and your shoulders move up. You have now inhaled as much air as
your lungs can hold. As you exhale, see this energy going to your
Basic Self. If you're not used to this type of breathing, start
while sitting or lying down.
As I begin to establish the flow of energy I am also monitoring
myself for the most harmonious time to begin to pray. In short,
when I feel I have stored up enough energy to send prayers, I
check with my pendulum to confirm this and then I ask my Basic
Self if the communication is clear to my High Self.
CLEARING
For the moment let's say that the communication is NOT clear.
Right then you go through the process of clearing it. This is
easier said than done for some of you. Here is how I do this:
I first make sure that Basic Self is cooperating. I do this by
simply asking with my pendulum. If that is OK, I then proceed
to imagine energy (by imagining energy, you are sending energy)
going up my Silver Cord (your Basic Self lives in the body as
well as in the spirit, but it is attached to the physical body.
Your High Self is attached to the body via what is described as
a silver cord. (Not unlike an umbilical cord.) I imagine this
energy going to my High Self and deep breathing as I do this.
The Silver Cord is the major AKA Cord (the invisible substance
which forms the permanent pattern of each self [level of consciousness]).
It conducts mana. The Aka Cord (silvery cord) connects the three
selves; it also connects us to other persons (etheric body). The
Aka Cord connects High Self to Basic Self, Conscious Self and
to your body. Break your Silver Cord and you are DEAD in the physical
world.
If my Basic Self is not cooperating, I then need to address that
issue. Sometimes Basic Selves say one thing and do another and
are afraid to go to High Self so directly. If you talk to yourself
and do what you are suppose to about reassuring Basic Self, coaching
and in general establishing better communication with High Self
through your Basic Self, you can get your prayers through.
There are more forms of interference than just your own internal
communication problems. Sometimes we have what the Hawaiians called
"Eating Companions" or as in some religious belief systems
they were called "unclean spirits," etc... this can
truly be a problem and here is how you clear them.
CLEARING
EATING COMPANIONS
Here are some questions that I ask to establish if I have some
companions or other similar types of situations going on in myself.
Q:
Are you the Basic Self born to me in this lifetime?
Q:
Is there something telling you to answer yes to the last question
when the true answer is no?
Depending on the answers, you may have discovered at least some
of your problems here. You only have one Basic Self and sometimes
it is afraid of these "Eating Companions." Remember,
your Basic Self has only the maturity of a young child. In the
Basic Self world, thought is as real as furniture is to us.
Q:
Are there any basic selves, spirits, entities, passed-over loved
ones, persons or things of any kind, shape or form attached to
us or in us?
Q:
If not were they there just prior to me asking this question?
NOTE: When one gets answers that clearly indicate that there is
a problem, one should not take a tone of blame but rather as the
Conscious mind (Uhane) assume the role of loving leadership and
deal with the situation in the here and now. Understand that you
are a co-maker of the universe and YOU are making yourself moment
by moment. Only you or someone you give permission to can revoke
these entities permissions to be attached to you or in you. This
is so for many reasons but primarily it is because you are in
charge of the issue which allows their entry to you. You need
to acquire permission from the Basic Self as for its part in allowing
them in. Simply ask for and receive permission from the Basic
Self to remove it. After receiving permission, take a deeper than
normal breath and say aloud:
"I,
on behalf of my Basic Self born to me in this lifetime, and myself,
do hereby REVOKE ANY AND ALL PERMISSIONS THAT I/WE HAVE GIVEN,
KNOWINGLY OR UNKNOWINGLY FOR ANY EXTRA BASIC SELVES, SPIRITS,
ENTITIES, PASSED-OVER LOVED ONES, PERSONS OR THINGS TO BE ATTACHED
TO US OR WITHIN US! I/WE REVOKE YOUR PERMISSIONS NOW AND SEND
YOU BACK TO YOUR SOURCE WITH BLESSINGS! THANK YOU FOR SHOWING
US OUR WEAKNESSES! NOW BE GONE!!
Let's face some facts here. If you are alive then you are in communication
with your High Self. However, that does not mean that you can
get your Basic Self to take your prayers to High Self. Better
communication means getting your Basic Self to take your prayers
to High Self with mana-mana or energy number 2. In a basic HUNA
class you would have been taught that the Conscious mind (Uhane)
sends mana to Basic Self (Unihipili). By sending this energy,
it has or can have a hypnotic effect. Let's do some coaching with
MANA!
COMMUNICATION
OK, the communication is now clear to High Self. I begin to say
my prayers for the healing. I visualize the prayers with the energy
flowing to my Basic Self and then to my High Self. I visualize
the results of the prayers. I see the old thought-forms and programming
being taken out of the energy or mana stream and the new ones
being put in. I see old thought-forms being given away to High
Self with the prayer, to transmute them into healing energy. I
see myself accomplishing my goals as a result of this. Not only
do I see myself accomplishing my goals but I see them as if they
have already been completed and I am enjoying the benefit of this
completion. I also send prayers to my already created future for
healing and replacement. I work on this for thirty minutes at
a time.
During the time period I am not praying, I am deep breathing,
storing up the mana, and clearing myself in preparation for the
next thirty minutes of prayers. I constantly strive to maintain
the highest level of harmony in myself during this time.
I also check to see if I have gotten through. I want to know the
progress of my prayers. Through the use of the pendulum I have
confirmed that enough energy and prayers have reached the High
Self. I then send the prayer of thanks. I also send more energy
as a thank you. After doing this I wait for the return of the
energy or blessing from the High Self through the Basic Self.
When I have received the blessing, I then hold the vision and
go about my day.
I knew all of this seems to some of you so complex. It really
isn't. You'll do most of these things automatically.
PROGRESS
CHECK
The next day I checked with my pendulum again to make sure that
what I prayed for got through and is working. In short, I do a
maintenance check and prayer. In my questioning of myself I check
to see how much has healed. I check to see that my already created
future is being healed. I check to see if I am really doing what
I set out to do.
This brings me to a subject that needs to be said. When you pray
for anything, after you are done, you need to do your Conscious
part. By that I mean you need to do whatever you are supposed
to do to assist in making it happen. In the words of another author,"You
have written the Play, all the actors are in their places, join
them on stage and act your part."
It took seven days before I felt the results beginning to occur.
All total it took twenty-one days for me to completely remove
and replace the programming. I continued to receive evidence of
my prayer action working during that time period.
Ultimately, you have to judge the results of your prayer action
by the product that you receive. By that I mean if I had been
praying for a physical healing and what I got as a result was
only feeling better but still being very sick, then I would have
had more work to do. In my situation the evidence was as clear
as night and day. It is not that I suddenly became more prosperous
but more to the point that I was no longer fighting myself internally
which allowed me to create prosperity in my life like any other
person.
I hope that by sharing my private challenge, you the readers may
replace your own challenges easier.
Unless you already have some information about HUNA or have attended
a Basic HUNA Class, it is difficult to write an article which
shares anything other than cursory information. I have attempted
here to show a process which accomplished a life changing event
for me and to give the reader a better look at how the magic works.
This is not even the tip of the iceberg so to speak. HUNA is not
a spectator sport, you have to do it and the rewards of practicing
it are wonderful. Those of us who follow the HUNA WAY attempt
to live the hurtless and helpful life by being people of Light,
Love and Service.
If you have never had a Basic HUNA class and are interested,
HUNA LIFE INTERNATIONAL, INC. will be glad to teach you. HUNA LIFE
International will teach HUNA anywhere it can for as long as the
teachers can break even or better financially.
ALOHA!
